Below is a list of release dates for the most recent versions of the eConfigurator, and their respective changes.

If you are an eConfigurator user, please ensure you have downloaded the most recent version of the eConfigurator directly from IBM’s web site.

One of our roles as sole UPS supplier to the iSeries and pSeries eConfigurators is to provide IBM with valued feedback from the field on any mis-configuration issues. With this in mind, we ask that you please notify us of any problems you may experience so that we can effectively communicate these to IBM.

 October 19, 2007 Withdrawal Announcement

Feature Code 9910-2916, 120V Convenience PDU (Nema Outlets), has been withdrawn from IBM Marketing effective October 30, 2007 as announced in IBM EPIC4768. Because this product is no longer manufactured, availability is based on remaining inventory. When a LV UPS supported outlet is "required", 9910 model P30 with PDM FC 9910-6570 or model P64 with PDM FC 9910-6571 should be used. These PDMs are supported only as "towers" for the IBM application.

May 9th 2006 Update

May 9th 2006 Update May 9th Update is designed to correct the following anomalies:

Adjust the gathering of the wattage needed by servers and I/O in a 7014 rack when a 9910 UPS is selected for a server and the server(s) and 9910 are shown in the same 7014 rack. Currently the wattage for the server that that the 9910 was selected with and the wattage for the rack I/O is accumulated for the 9910 info message (the user can see if the 9910 selected is large enough to support the devices in the 7014 rack). The situation to solve is to "also" accumulate the wattage of the 2nd, 3rd, etc.... servers that are also ordered and added to the same 7014 rack. We are getting this recommendation from our e-eConfig users as they are putting multiple servers in the same rack (on the same factory order) very often now. They want the e-eConfig to accumulate the wattage for the 2nd, 3d, etc... servers also and put the total in the message.

We are also being requested again (for the p-series side) to "default" the correct size 9910 UPS for the equipment that is in the rack (on the order) (we do a good job of this in the i-series models now). Today we make the user select from the whole list and put out a message if the 9910 they selected is not large enough, and then they have to delete that 1 and select another 1. May 9th revision should correct this.

April 1, 2006 Update

The correct # of 6630 rails are now defaulted when the 6607 EBM is ordered.

Previously, if you selected server model 9406-520 and changed it from a tower to a rack model, select the adapter needed and press configure, the P33 is defaulted correctly. However, if you went to the UPS tab and select the UPS to change to the P33 or P65, the list showed only the tower model rather than the rack options as required. P33 and P65 were not shown or available. This anomaly has been corrected with the April 1st launch.
