EATON RENEWS ENTIRE MARINE UPS LINE-UP
HAMBURG, GERMANY Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) today announced having finished the renewal of its entire marine UPS product line-up. Powerware 9120M, 9155M, 9355M and 9390M are all double-conversion online uninterruptible power system (UPS) specially designed for marine installations.
Powerware 9120 M (2-3 kVA) and 9155 M (8-15 kVA) are optimal solutions for protecting critical loads in single-phase applications. Powerware 9355M (8-40 kVA) and 9390 M (60-160 kVA) provide the same protection for three-phase applications. All models are widely used to protect the operation of critical equipment such as navigation, communication, integrated bridge, ship automation, computer systems and emergency lighting.
Eaton marine UPS’ are based on the industry leading global UPS technology platform introduced in 2005. The technology was first proven in a large installed base around the world and now the marine UPS products combine this advanced base technology with the needed marine modifications: All marine models are adapted for use in the IT-mains, have hardened mechanical design, higher IP class, mechanical shock absorbers, and they meet the classification societies safety requirements.
9155M, 9355M and 9390M models are provided with Eaton's patented Hot Sync® technology which makes it possible to parallel two or more Powerware marine UPS units to increase availability. Hot Sync enables load sharing without a communication line, thus eliminating a single point of failure. All marine UPSs feature Eaton's unique Advanced Battery Management (ABM) that charges batteries only when necessary, thus increasing battery life by up to 50%.
“There’s a strong momentum going on in the marine market and Eaton will take a significant share of the growing market. Powerware 9155M, the first new marine product in the market has already sold well over our expectations,” said Juha Lantta, Marketing Manager, Marine Power Systems, Eaton Power Quality.
